On 13th May, a group of project volunteers visited Valence House Museum in Dagenham as part of the research into Wallace's life.
We were able to see the World of Wallace travelling exhibition and also look at the Wallace material in the Local Studies Centre.
Future visits will include the Thurrock Museum, the Natural History Museum and the Essex Record Office. We will use the results of the research for an exhibition and booklet telling the story of Wallace, of evolution, of The Dell and of Victorian Thurrock. We will exhibit the results at the Thurrock Museum and at local events such as the Orsett Show under the title Discovering Alfred Russel Wallace.
