Following the Friends of Alfred Russel Wallace at The Dell display at the High House open day at Purfleet as part of the 2015 Heritage Open Days organised by the National Trust and Historic England, our display boards went to the Heritage display area at the Thameside, next to the Thurrock Museum,

The display panels have deliberately been produced in a modular form, so that they can be used at different locations in Thurrock to support various events. When not being used for a specific display elsewhere, the panels will be on display at the Thameside.

Copies of the supporting booklet are available alongside the display.

We would like to involve as many local people as possible in the project to make Alfred Russel Wallace better known in Thurrock. If you would like to be part of the project, please contact the Thurrock Local History Society.

You can e-mail: JohnMatthews@thurrock-history.org.uk if you would like to help with the project, or if you would like a copy of the booklet.
